Pole Wrap Shibori
Pole Wrap Shibori is a pattern where the garment is wrapped around a large pipe or bucket using cord or sinew to attach it. Then the garment is scrunched down to form a resist pattern. The dye is then applied... I use a squeeze bottle to apply the dye, but it could also be submerged in a dye bath. Currently, I have 2 versions of the pole wrap pattern... I call them '1' and '2'... pretty original, huh? I either wrap the cord in a parallel pattern (#1), or I wrap it in a random, criss-cross pattern (#2). They create two distinctive patterns, even though the basic process is the same for both.
Below is a selection of color combinations and pole wrap shibori styles you can choose from, if you would like to place a custom order. Title indicates the color shown. Simply send me an e-mail noting garment type, size, pattern and color(s) you would like. I will reply with pricing and payment arrangement options. And check back from time to time... I'm always adding colors!
